We sent out an email a few weeks ago that asked for help to cover some of the costs for this. It is so humbling to us that so many of you sacrificed and helped us to send our child to this retreat. The care and love is overwhelming to us!

The retreat is from Wednesday night to Sunday morning, please lift this retreat up with us and everyone who is there! These kids live different lives and it is a great chance for them to be able to be around other kids who are doing the same kinda things and even the leaders have previously been in their shoes. So not only is the whole program done in a top notch way, but it just allows God to do amazing things!
While we are waiting for their return, we are going to be traveling and seeing some other parts of India that we haven't seen before so we are really looking forward to that. We will be getting together with other co-workers and it will be so nice to see them and get a chance to see what's going on in 'their neck of the woods.'
Also, yesterday, we went and prayed with a friend who lost his wife a couple weeks ago. This friend is definitely someone to lift up!
Our hearts break knowing that his wife passed away without ever knowing Him. It's really hard for us to know that we are here, but yet still many are perishing without ever hearing the Truth. We cannot let this persuade or demotivate us though. It's just yet another reminder that there's a ton of work to do and we need to make the most of every opportunity.
Yesterday, in our opportunity to be in this friend's home and with his family and friends, we were able to pray with him and believe for Peace to come that he's never experienced before. We know that it was not by chance that we were connected with him just a month or so after we got here and now there's an open door to come and share the Light of Life. Please lift us up for continued opportunities to share and engage this family and their friends.

Our friend has two boys, 14 and 9 years old. Please remember them during this horrible loss of their mother.
On yet another note, today we were going down a side 'street' (basically a dirt path) and we look up and a herd of water buffalo were coming at us! The didn't seem to mind we were there at all, and just walked around the car we were in! HA! I have to say that's the first time I've been surrounded by water buffalo ... they really are kinda cool looking up close!

Water Buffalo?? It's like a Veggie Tale movie!! well...maybe not not.
BTW, I was reading this weekend and something struck a chord with me for you guys.
I KNOW the ... um .... 'scent environment" is different there! BTDT! There and China, Russia, Guat..etc.
Some stuff I was reading this weekend was so relevant to this.
The author was trying to work on being more approachable.
He was in an airport when an awful stench became him. He was gagging.
He realized it came from a Middle Eastern woman who had came to stand next to him, waiting for the plane.
She had sandals on and was carrying tennis shoes.
He said she was sweating and, since the Middle Eastern diet is so powerfully scented, of course her sweat "smelled" the same...kwim?
His immediate reaction was to GET AWAY!
He did. He felt horrible but relieved.
Of course, she ended up sitting next to him on the plane.
He said it finally dawned on him, mid-flight, that "J" was Middle-Eastern too...
That "J" would have eaten alot of the same spices, etc. that this woman eats.
That he would have had somewhat similar hygiene habits.
"J" would have smelled similar!
He wondered if he would have been repulsed if it had been "J" there instead of His creation?
Food for though, huh??!
Luv you all and are praying for Brucie....
Shoot...We were proud that we let Chase goto a Mall this weekend in Huntsville with some new friends he made at the conference!
You are sending yours to Turkey?!!!! hehe
me
We will definitely be praying for all of you as you travel and especially for the kids at the retreat. Also praying for the grieving man and his boys...and for wisdom in sharing with him. Thank you for letting us share in these experiences with you...water buffalo and all!
Lots of love and prayers,
from Back Home in Indiana
LOL--I love that...On another note, we were driving down the street and got stampeded by water buffalo. (my interpretation). So funny that you can now include in your review of a normal day an encounter with water buffalo.
Wow to you and your oldest son! I'm sure this retreat is requiring a lot out of all of you. I will be praying that he will be truly blessed by this opportunity.
Reading your post made me wonder if you have been able to see the Taj Mahal.
I hope you are all doing well. We love and miss you. Hopefully we are able to get together when you visit.
Hoping Bruce is back with you guys safely and with alot of great memories!
