WOW! What a long time since we have posted! We took some greatly needed R & R the last month, but we promise to be posting at least once a week again.
It was such a blessing to be able to spend time with family and friends.
Some people may think that moving a family to a third world country is so difficult ... but actually what we have found is that the hardest part is leaving our family and friends behind. Having a few weeks to see them 'live' and with our own eyes really helped to bring some balance to our lives. Of course we never have 'enough time' with them, but we are sososososo thankful for the time that we did have.
One funny story is that our youngest didn't know what a water fountain was when we got back to the States. I was a little shocked by that. Needless to say, once it was determined that we could drink that water, that's all the entertainment that was needed for the next 1/2 hour! ;-)
We have returned and now we are charged up and ready to go!
There have been some great and exciting developments for us in the last few weeks. We have been trying to determine what the 'next step' is for us here after completing our first year here.
Are we to stay in this area?
Were we just here to learn the language and then we are going to move somewhere else?
How do we really reach out to the people group that our hearts are so passionate for?
What does that look like on an every day basis?
How can we love them in a way that they have never known before?
Well, as if He hasn't helped us enough already ... doors were opened (literally) for us to rent a space right in the middle of the village that we have been engaging this past year to plant "The Center". Creatively simple name, eh? hahaha We will define it more as we go along.
We will be loving this village through providing them the opportunities of education in English, which many of them have no chance of learning since English medium schools are much more expensive.
We will now have a consistent definite 'presence' in this community that has not ever had this before.
There's so much potential here our buttons are bursting! Please lift us up that we continue to find the favor and direction in what He is leading us to do!

Hi All,
Glad you are back safe and sound from your R & R.
It sounds very exciting to be opening a center to teach the local people English.
We are praying with you for God's guidance of this adventure.
Love you,
Darlene
