Spending Our Time ...

So how are we spending our last few days before we leave for 3 years?

With family, of course!!!!

It is such a joy to get to spend time with our family before we go. There's kinda the big elephant in the room the whole time, though, because we are doing this because we are leaving. Not that we never would if we weren't leaving, but that's certainly the timing of this trip. Bittersweet ... but truly more sweet than bitter for sure!!!!

This week has shown us a lot of things ... most of all that family is everything. We can't put into words how much it means to have family that wants the best for us and supports us, even though we know it's not easy for them either. It's not just us that has to go through a transition, it's our family and friends too. We don't like making people we care about have to deal with things that may be difficult. That's why we appreciate so much their sincere encouragement, we don't take that for granted. Our friends and family are selfless, they are not letting their feelings of it 'not being fair' that we are not going to be here physically for a while, get in the way of their support of us.

How can you thank someone for that kind of support? I don't know. That is overwhelming to me because it means so much. Anything we could do or say just seems to pale so miserably in comparison. It is hard to tangibly show this kind of appreciation, it's just beyond words or gifts.

So, that's how we have been spending our time. With family. This weekend we will get to see some dear friends too. How wonderful!
