My husband's parents have been here for the past 2 1/2 weeks visiting us. This has been a true joy to get to have them here and share in our life on this side of the pond!
It has been so nice to have family here to talk too and be with again. Our kids have been ecstatic the whole time! So this would be the 'sweet' part.
The bitter part happens tomorrow when they leave. We, of course, don't want them too - but we know that they can't stay forever. Plus today is the first day of 100 degree weather so it's a good time to go! HA!
I just want to post and ask everyone to lift up our kids over the next few days as they re-adjust to life without grandma and grandpa being here again. We know it's part of it and we knew when they came that them leaving would be hard, but it's so worth it to have them here with us!
I feel the need to keep our kids busy over the next few days and keep their minds off of it ... but there's only SO much to do here. There's just not a lot of exciting fun stuff just waiting to be had in these parts. Someone suggested auto rickshaw races, we might just do that! I just want to find some creative fun things to do together to help them ease back into 'normal' life.
One thing that definitely will help is that my WONDERFUL sister sent us REAL Mountain Dew! I actually have 12 bottles of the real stuff in my refrigerator right now!!! My husband said to hide some so I can save them ... I said, "No Way!" I am going to drink all of these by tomorrow night! HA ...
Just having something like that to divert our attention away from the not-so-fun-stuff is really nice. I think He knew this timing all along, don't 'cha think? :-)

Wow that must be hard having to part with them again. Although I can imagine how nice it would be to have them there after being away from them for 6 months, especially for your husband. Who wouldn't miss their parents?
As for your children, I second the suggestion of the autorickshaw races-as long as it's safe of course. Also is there maybe a movie out that they would enjoy seeing? Or perhaps some tourist site that they've read about that they'd want to visit?
Generally I'm good at coming up with ideas to keep little minds occupied-my childhood dream was to be a teacher and even to this day I can come up with several different lesson plans in my mind but since I don't know much about Indian culture and what's there it's hard for me to help much =/
Aww...Ames! It is wonderful that you have been able to visit with them. I'm sure that was a huge blessing to you and the boys. I'll be praying for you these next few days and that the boys will be able to understand. How exciting that they were able to come for a fairly extended trip! Hope you guys find some new things to do for fun there. God bless! Love ya, Mal
